Cleaning Instruction for Magicard Printer




Previous blog entries discussed why it is important for ID card printers to undergo a routine maintenance. Aside from the fact that it will extend the life of the printer, it will also improve the printing quality. By doing routine check up or routine maintenance it prevents bigger problems and damages to happen. Small problems are often neglected and thus it develops into a bigger problem.

ID card printers manufactured by Magicard allow organizations and businesses to create their own photo ID cards and Id badges. With its added security features, it can also be used to print ATM cards, secured ID cards, and other business solutions made of plastic cards.

Features of Magicard printers

Magnetic strip card encoder. Information are stored on magnetic strip. A special type of card reader is needed in order to retrieve the information.

Watermarks. Plastic cards may contain watermarks. It can either be a logo or any images. In order to see it, the photo ID card is tilted at a certain angle. This is one way to verify the authenticity of the plastic cards.

1. When first starting a Magicard printer, you will be required to prep the machine. Press down on the top cover of the printer before releasing the top cover catch. Open the cover.

2. Slowly peel back the white tape that holds the black plastic cleaning cassette in place.

3. Hold the cassette’s handle between your thumb and finger. Gently push down and then release the cassette from its mounting. Locate the cleaning cassette roller, and peel back the orange tape and the protective layer.

4. Push the the cassette back into place ensuring that its roller shaft clicks into place via the U-shaped guides. The printer will automatically use the cleaning cassette when you start the printer for the first time.
